Below is a letter from Maureen Lucas who is one of our esteemed judges, and it sums up our weekend so well.

I am writing to thank the committee for inviting me to judge at the 2007 Annual Show. It was an honour and a privilege to do so. The 350 exhibits were of a very high standard, both in the quality of the plants and the attention to detail in their presentation. The judging was, therefore, quite a challenging job. In the end, we came up with some wonderful winners.

May I congratulate the Show Manager, Tony Alston, and all of the other committee members and helpers on both days of the Show.
I would also like to thank my fellow Judge, Wayne Robinson, my student Judge, Dianne Sharman and the very able stewards, Jill Abbott, Martin Ganter and Paul Lucas, all of whom did an excellent job. Barby Alston also did a sterling job on printing out the wonderful prize cards. The plant sellers played their part in promoting the use of succulent plants. A show could not run without the help and hard work of those who set it up and pulled it down and cleaned up afterwards.

The hundreds of members of the public who attended the Show and bought plants were tantamount to the marvellous organisation in both getting the Show up and running and the excellent publicity generated for it.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ONE AND ALL ON A JOB WELL DONE.

Best Regards,
Maureen Lucas
