Presented over Saturday 28th October 2006, and, Sunday 29th October 2006, our Spring Show was a resounding success, and our best show to date.
I’d like to congratulate the committee, members and others who made the show awe inspiring.
 
The lead up to the show took a fair bit of planning, but with the organisation of the show committee, things appeared to go seamlessly.
 
The two days over which the show was held was a wonderful experience for all lovers of succulent and cacti.  Many of us, and I will ‘dob’ myself in for this, felt like the proverbial ‘kid in a candy store’.  There were so many wonderful plants to look at and marvel over.  There were even displays of plants that stunned and amused many.  The creativity of some members was absolutely astounding.  I have one question for these individuals:
“Where have you been hiding?”
 
I think for many of us, there were plants on display and plants for sale for that matter that so many of us never even knew existed.
 
The show and sales kicked off to a wonderful rush of very enthusiastic visitors who were queuing to get in the front door.  Things went so well on Saturday, day one of the show, that many of the sellers in the sales area had to go home on the Saturday evening to prepare more stock to be sold on the Sunday.  Don, who was selling soil, was very pleasantly surprised that he ran out of soil, and had to make plans to get some more supplies.
 
All in all I would say that a great time was had by all, and we all look forward to next year’s show with bated anticipation!
